On day 2 of our Dublin trip we went to Croke Park Stadium in the morning. It is one of the biggest stadiums in Europe with a capacity of more than 80.000 visitors. Here we tried the Irish national sports hurling and Gaelic football that are both played in this stadium and learned a lot about the stadium and these two sports. Both in hurling and in Gaelic football there are only amateur players, which means that they aren‘t paid and only ever play for their hometeam. This is a nice idea, isn‘t it?
After a break for lunch and a bit of either shopping or relaxing we visited the Teeling Whiskey Distillery, a very modern Irish whiskey distillery. There we learned about the process of whiskey distilling and the biological processes needed in it.
